A deligation of higher governmet officials led by Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonen visited The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam this morning.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Ethiopia, Gedu Andargachew, Minister of Water, Irrigation and Energy, Sileshi Bekele (doctor engineer) and Minister of Innovation and Technology, Abrham Belay (doctor engineer) are among the higher government officials who visited the progress of the construction of the dam.
Besides, members of the nation’s macro econmy group also visited the GERD which is being constructed in the place called Guba, Benishangul Gumuz Regional State.
Press secretary of the Office of Prime Minister Ethiopia, Nigusu Tilahun told to AMMA that the visit was aimed at observing the progress of the construction, prioritizing tasks and getting informed about the financial status.
Ethiopia is committed to start filling the dam by this summer.
